COVID-19 Information

We are very excited to let you know that we will be welcoming clients back into the consulting rooms for face-to-face consulting from Tuesday 2nd, November 2021.

We have implemented a number of protocols to ensure we continue to provide our high standard of care.

Arriving at Allambie Vet for your appointment

Our reception area will open for clients; however there is a limit of up to 5 clients at a time.

  1. We ask clients to call the hospital to inform reception of your arrival. Our receptionist will advise you if it is appropriate to enter or they may ask you to wait in your car, the park or on the bench if we are at capacity at that time.
  2. Masks must be worn all times and please social distance.
  3. Use the hand sanitiser provided outside the reception door.
  4. It is a requirement to scan the QR code and sign in.

Your Consultation

We have two options for consultations:

  1. If you would like face-to-face consultation in the consulting room then;

       a. only one fully vaccinated client per patient only may enter the hospital.

       b. You will need to show proof of vaccination upon entry to the hospital.

Or

       2. We will still offer consultations outside of the hospital for those who would prefer;

       a. two or more family members attending including children,

       b. not to disclose your vaccination decision or

       c. if you are concerned about your exposure risk.

The treating vet will discuss any health concerns while social distancing or over the phone. We will then take your pet into the hospital for a physical examination while a nurse holds. The vet will then discuss the appropriate treatment plan with you, once again while social distancing or over the phone while you wait outside the hospital.

Repeat medications and prescription diets must be per-ordered. Once medications are ready, our receptionist will call you for payment. Medications and food will be placed outside under cover for collection.

We are fortunate that our Allambie Vet team is fully vaccinated.

You must remain at home in accordance with the government self-isolation rules if you:

  • are waiting on a COVID19 test result
  • have tested positive for COVID19
  • have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID19.

We would like to thank our clients for your patience and compassion during these difficult times.

The best way to keep up to date with Allambie Vet’s response to COVID-19 updates is by following Allambie Vet on Facebook and Instagram.
