At Allambie Vet, we know unexpected veterinary costs can be stressful. That’s why we offer flexible payment options, including traditional methods, financing, insurance claims, and pre-approvals, so your pet gets the care they need without added financial pressure.


1. Flexible Payment Methods

We accept a variety of convenient payment methods to suit your preferences:

  • VISA
  • MasterCard
  • EFTPOS
  • Cash
  • Direct Deposit (requires proof of transaction sent to us via email).

Please note that all accounts must be finalised at the time of consultation or discharge.


2. Pet Insurance

Pet insurance can significantly reduce the financial impact of veterinary treatments.

When choosing a policy, consider:

  • Does the policy cover breed-specific conditions?
  • Are there age limits or exclusions for your pet?
  • What are the annual caps for treatments or conditions?
  • Does it cover accidents, illnesses, and routine care?
  • Are there waiting periods before coverage begins?
  • What is the excess fee structure?

Securing a policy early is key, as many providers do not cover pre-existing conditions.


3. Making an Insurance Claim

If you have pet insurance and wish to make a claim, we’re here to make the process as seamless as possible:

  • Have your provider's name and policy number ready when you arrive for your consultation.
  • Our team will assist in submitting the claim to your insurer where possible.
  • If your insurer does not support direct claims, we will provide all the necessary documentation for you to submit the claim yourself.

Note: To process insurance claims, your account must be paid in full.


4. Insurance Pre-Approvals

We can submit pre-approvals for some insurance companies on your behalf. This allows you to confirm coverage and out-of-pocket expenses before treatment begins.

How Pre-Approvals Work:

  1. Inform us if you would like a pre-approval submitted.
  2. We will liaise with your insurance provider and submit the request.
  3. Many insurers provide fast turnaround times, often within a day.

This process is particularly helpful for planned or high-cost procedures, offering peace of mind about financial coverage.


5. GapOnly® Payments

We’re partnered with GapOnly®, allowing eligible pet insurance claims to be processed instantly. This means you only pay the gap amount on the day of your visit.

How GapOnly® Works:

  1. Let us know you’d like to use GapOnly® when booking or arriving.
  2. We submit the claim to your insurer during the consultation.
  3. The claim is processed in as little as 10 minutes (within GapOnly® business hours).
  4. You pay only the remaining gap amount.

6. VetPay - Payment Plans

We also offer VetPay, a flexible payment plan that allows you to spread the cost of treatments over time.

How VetPay Works:

  • Pay a 10% deposit at the time of consultation.
  • The balance is debited fortnightly from your nominated account.
  • VetPay provides flexible terms, low interest rates, and transparent fees.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be the pet’s primary owner.
  • Be 18 years or older with a good credit history.
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
